Alex's Latent Thoughts

Hi, welcome to my data science blog!

I’m Alex Lalov, and this is my webpage where you’ll find both informal research I’ve conducted as a Master’s student at TU Delft and opinion pieces regarding the current state of AI.

Currently, I’m anonymizing personally identifiable information (PII) and allowing institutions to share data with zero egress by creating diffusion-based generative models for heterogeneous tabular data. All in an effort to solve this problem.

I believe that data science, and more specifically deep learning, is simultaneously the most exciting and least academically rigorous. As the marriage between statistics and software, this field is attempting to realize some of the coolest sci-fi ideas e.g. GLaDOS, while unfortunately being the most difficult to verify and reproduce.

If you want to reach out you can send me an email, at me on Twitter or open an issue on GitHub.
